Events on earth are always side effects. Earth itself is a side effect. The causes for everything lie in the realms of mind – the heavens, according to the ancient symbology. The movements of the heavenly bodies are considered movements in the mind of the Divine. Every movement in mind has a physical correspondence. Hence when we study these movements we are studying the activity of the mind of the Divine at any given time. What is that announcing? What is the intent here? What good shall it bring about? And even the challenges that happen – and they are seen – are also ultimately good. This is the approach the astrologer takes when studying a person’s horoscope or the horoscope of an event. As above, say the ancients, so below. As in heaven, so on earth. As in the mind, so in the body.
