McDonald’s embracing astrology, which we discussed in our last blog post is a signal that astrology is going main stream. It has always been popular but always on the fringes. Now it seems to be hitting the masses. Personally, I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand we are going to see the Hollywoodization of astrology. That is, we will see it distorted beyond all recognition. Hollywood’s Treatment of any subject is a generally good entertainment, and there is usually some kernel of truth in their presentation. But the distortions completely outweigh any nuggets of truth. I fear this will happen with Astrology well. To deal with it in a non-destructive way it can get very complicated, as astrology is a complicated cosmic science. So in the main streaming of this science much of the complication will be eliminated and we will be left with many a distortion. On the positive side, it can pique enough people‘s interest so that they are encouraged to study things on a deeper level. This will be the major good that I see happening from this. Hooray for Hollywood.
